How does NexiAgent's AI call answering work?
Updated on · ISEGTEC, LDA
NexiAgent's call answering assistant picks up your business phone with a natural voice, answers questions from the information you gave it, books appointments within your opening hours, takes messages and transfers the call to your team when the caller asks. When it doesn't know the answer, it doesn't make one up: it takes a message with name, contact and reason, which lands in your panel.
1. Connect the number
You can keep the number your customers already know: ask your phone provider to forward calls to the number we give you. You can also get a new number. A Portuguese number requires a registration with the regulator using company documents, so we handle that and email you when it is answering — it usually takes a few working days.
2. Teach the assistant
In the panel, under What the assistant knows, add your opening hours, address, services, prices and the questions you hear most. Under How the assistant behaves, set the business name, the language, the tone, the first sentence of the call and the rules: what to say and what not to say. You can do it yourself or ask our team to install it.
3. Answer and record
- Answers questions from what you taught it.
- Books appointments only within your opening hours, after confirming the day, the time and the name.
- Takes messages with name, contact and reason, when it cannot answer or when someone asks for a call back.
- Transfers the call to your team's number when the caller asks.
Every call lands in the panel with what was said, the booking or the message.
Languages
It answers in Portuguese, English, Spanish or French. The language you choose in the panel also sets the voice and the speech recognition on the phone line.
Hours
It answers 24 hours a day, within your plan's minutes. The opening hours you set in the panel apply to bookings: outside them, the assistant won't offer or confirm a booking — it says so and suggests the nearest time you are open.
When the assistant can't answer
It doesn't invent prices, timings or policies. If the answer isn't in the information you gave it, it says it doesn't have that information and takes a message for your team to follow up. If the caller asks for a person, it puts the call through. If you haven't set a number for transfers, it takes a message instead — the call never falls into silence. Routing options depend on the plan.
Recording and transcripts
Call recording is off by default. Transcripts are always available in the panel. If you ask for recording to be turned on, the assistant announces it at the start of the call.
What it costs
From €99/month + VAT on the Standard plan, with 60 answered minutes a month, 1 number and 1 call at a time. Pro (€249/month + VAT) includes 400 minutes, up to 3 numbers and 3 calls at a time; Ultra (€499/month + VAT) includes 1,200 minutes, up to 10 numbers and 10 calls at a time. There is a one-off activation fee of €79 + VAT, and the plan is only charged after a 14-day trial. See all prices.
At 80% of your minutes you get an email. At 100%, the assistant stops answering and callers hear a polite message; we never charge overages. A call is never cut off mid-way because of the limit: if there aren't enough minutes left for a useful conversation, the call isn't answered.
